Dear friends and colleagues,
Now that I’m back to my normal duties,
I feel the need to communicate with you all.
Another Regional meeting came to an end and I sincerely hope that your
stay was enjoyable and productive. It was a great pleasure for me to see
each and every one of you.
I hope you arrived home safely. I truly feel that together we have
achieved a remarkable and memorable event.
Please allow me to take this opportunity to relay to all of you a warm
Thank you on behalf of the organizing committee and me personally.
We are all grateful for your presence here, although a lot of you
traveled a far distance overcoming all the difficulties you might
encountered.
We all believe that the Conference was successful and we all feel
rewarded for our determination in the planning phase to ensure that even
the smallest detail was not overlooked in our effort to organize an
unforgettable Meeting.
My deepest gratitude is due to my team without which this Conference
could not have been possible.
I would also like to take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt thanks
to the whole Kipriotis Panorama Hotel staff for outstanding performance
and ability to adapt to last minute changes and requests from our side.
Finally thanks a million to all our esteemed IFATCA friends for your
presence at the Conference and I thank you for your kind words which
have made us so proud and happy.

26th IFATCA European Regional Meeting 2009 & Performance Seminar
Dear delegates, supporters, friends and colleagues,
The 26th European Regional Meeting finished its proceedings last Sunday
afternoon.
With the ERM behind us, a very busy and at times hectic period ended for
most of us.
Many people have been involved in making this event a big success.
The colleagues, who put a remarkable amount of time and effort into the
organisation, are all members of a fantastic team – the OC of the ERM
2009.
I am very grateful to these professionals, who organised an impeccable
Regional Meeting with good meeting facilities and nice social events.
They
impressed with an always helpful and friendly attitude.
My very special thanks go to EEEKE, our Greek association.
I also want to take the opportunity and thank all those who helped in
the
background of the Organising Committee – colleagues, friends and family.
Many hours and days you had to miss the members of the OC as they were
engaged in the ERM. Without your support, an event can never be as
successful! Thank you!
My sincere thanks go to our esteemed sponsors. The financial burden for
a
voluntary federation like ours is a heavy one when we want to organise
such
an event. Without your valuable support, we could not keep the expenses
at a
level enabling all our members in the European Region to attend (35 of
44
European associations were present). We need you!
Furthermore I want to express my gratitude to all invited guests and
presenters. Your knowledge needs to be spread; your efforts in the ATM
business have to be presented to our federation and the ERM delegates in
particular. With the discussions held, the knowledge acquired and the
contacts tied, we can make a difference! Thank you!
I also want to thank the delegates and colleagues, who spent time and
money
to attend this meeting. You showed remarkable interest and motivation to
learn about complex subjects and issues, like for example the SESAR
initiative, the performance approach, just culture and media crisis
communications. You questioned and applauded the work of other fellow
colleagues; you listened with patience and contributed constructively.
You are
a good European team! Your passion drives us forward! I am proud of you!

A big “Thank you” goes to my fellow Executive Board members and our
office
staff in Montreal, above all - to Dale Wright (NATCA/USA), EVP Finance
and
Zeljko Oreski (CROATCA) for their assistance at the head table and of
course
to Marc Baumgartner, PCX & CEO of the Federation for his assistance and
presence at the ERM.
Special thanks go to my colleagues at home, my home association EGATS –
the EUROCONTROL Guild and my employer, the EUROCONTROL agency.
First and foremost though I want to thank my partner and children. It is
my
partners’ vital support and my children’s tolerance that make it
possible!

I hope you all enjoyed this European Regional Meeting - that you could
learn,
participate and take home with you some inspiration for your work in
your
association or company. The camaraderie, friendship and knowledge, which
our federation IFATCA offers, form a solid foundation to build our
common
future on.
I hope that I, as the Executive Vice-President Europe, was able to
fulfil your
expectations. I hope you were content with my leadership, guidance and
visions. I hope having been able to wake up your interest, to motivate
you and
to give you confidence for your own efforts.
I encourage you to forward me your feedback about this ERM in particular
and my work as your EVP in general.
